CECOCAFEN LAVADO SHG EP FT ORGANIC

CECOCAFEN, the Central Association of Northern Coffee Cooperatives, was founded in 1997 with initial investments from their 500 producer members. It represents around 2,600 farmer families in 12 community based cooperatives and its primary aims are to support members’ production capacity and to promote and sell its members’ coffee in direct and fair trade export transactions to international niche markets.
 
The coffee originates from farms located in the areas surrounding Matagalpa (Land of Eternal Springs). The region is reknowned for its rich volcanic soil and the farms are set at altitudes ranging from 1,000 metres to 1,500 metres at their peaks. The region also enjoys spring like weather all year round - these factors, along with high humidity and a good annual rainfall create an ideal growing environment for high quality, uniquely flavoured and full bodied organic coffees.
