Situated on the eastern slopes of the Andes, Rodriguez de Mendoza is home to community of the Asociación de Productores y Exportadores de Café Rodriguez de Mendoza. This is a cooperative made up of 356 members who all run smallholder-sized farms between 1 - 10 ha. The cooperative focuses extensively on growing sustainably, aided by the widely held knowledge that better environmental conditions mean higher harvest yields and a consistent high quality in cup. The area is known for its many forests and streams, and farmers aim to maintain and improve these constantly.
